New writing class links!

Public relations curriculum has to keep up with current trends in the industry in order to prepare students as much as possible for careers in the field. As technology adapts and evolves, public relations practitioners must be confident enough to explore new channels for developing relationships with stakeholders. One current trend is blogs. The assignment for this group of public relations writing students is to maintain a blog on the client or industry in which they were creating a communication plan.

The following links lead to current student blogs. We invite you to read these blogs and comment on any of the posts. The goal is to start a dialog about public relations issues, interest/expertise areas, and even the style of writing that is appropriate for professional blogging.

Public Relations class sets up blogs

Welcome to the first of many links to blogs established by public relations students at the University of Florida. The topics will vary based on the course in which the students are using the blogs. Some will be discussions of current issues in public relations while others will reflect on topics of professional interest where the students hope to apply their public relations skills.

We invite you to comment on their blogs providing feedback about style, content and format as this is a learning experience for all of us about the incorporation of blogging into professional communications.
